From DETROIT, A litter of puppies was hog tied in a Detroit abandoned home that was set on fire, police said.

One of those puppies survived. A Detroit police officer rescued the puppy, now called MIRICLE.

Police reported a neighbor saw some children carrying the puppies into the house, then running away when the house caught on fire.

The two month old puppy was taken to a Almost Home Animal Rescue and then brought to the Oakland Veterinary Referral Services for treatment.

Miracle had third degree burns over 20 percent of her body, second degree burns over 20 percent of her body and first degree burns over 40 percent of her body.

Miracle will need intensive critical care and many surgeries.

Her initial care is being funded by the Almost Home Animal Rescue and the Emergency Animal Relief Foundation.
