~A UNIQUE WAY TO DYE YOUR EGGS~
FIRST GO INTO YOUR HUSBANDS CLOSET AND GET HIS OLD ‘SILK’ TIES…OR THE ONES WITH COFFEE STAINS!

Pick out the more colorful ties…the brighter the color the prettier the egg turns out.

Use an aluminum or glass pot, to boil your eggs. Add a 1/2 cup of regular white vinegar to the water.

Cut the bottom of the silk ties off…you are going to use this to dye the eggs. So, make it big enough to wrap around your egg.

Wrap it around the eggs, as flat and smooth as you can make it. Twist off with a twist tie. Get some white material…{I use cotton} and do the same thing, over the tie material. This step makes the colors more brilliant.

Put the wrapped eggs in the glass or aluminum pan and bring the water to a boil and set simmer for 20 minutes. Cool and then unwrap the eggs…they will be beautiful.

Don’t throw the ties material away, as it can be used 4-5 times.

To make the eggs shine…rub them with vegetable oil.

Actually any SILK material will do…but I prefer the ties….hence making them tie dyed…hey, I am a 60’s chick…what do you expect? {grins} It is a great way to recycle!

It is well worth the added effort to have the best eggs around!

Happy Holidays,
