pregnant400×300.gifIt has come to my attention that there is a whole, wide world of sex on line…

Recently, I was approached by someone asking for cyber sex…sex on line.
And this was from someone who I didn’t even know, had never even spoken too.

Well, now…here is an interesting concept…sex with out emotional contact…physical contact.

I supposed it has it’s place.

There must be as there are sites everywhere for this cyber activity.

And even though your computer can get viruses…I don’t think that STD’s can be transmitted thru cyber space…so that would be safe.

Have we come to a point in history where we don’t need each other any more?
Has intimacy gone to the four winds? The interaction of human to human disappearing?

And what about the moral issues?
Is it cheating on your significant other?

What would Jesus do? I just can’t see the Disciples and Jesus in a Cyber Cafe drinking a vanilla mocha latte’ and having sex on line!

And just how is this finalized…do you go and get one of those word speak/type programs so you can have your hands free???

What would foreplay be with sex on line…where would the romance be…????
Would a minute man be even quicker????

MY mind does not what to think about what will happen when robots are in every house hold! TMI !

I am guessing that the men vs women ideas on sex on line will be totally different…I can’t wait to see your comments

I imagine that every issue out there has it’s pros and cons…ME…I am voting a big fat NO on this one…NO Sex on line for this Baby Boomer…What about you Cyber Baby Boomers…out there…what is your take on “sex on line”…I welcome your opinions!

Well…lets see what can I wrote about today…in thinking back, I have read, that you should always write about what you know best…well that is harder than it seems, as that question was…well, what do I know about…again I drew a blank.

I can’t talk about romance…I have been thru two divorces…so that really doesn’t qualify me.

The weather…who really cares!

Money…well I think my creditors might find that one interesting…

Job skills…well, I have had some interesting jobs, started several business…MMMMmmmm
That might be a good one.

You know what I think I will throw caution to the wind and talk about pie crusts…PIE CRUSTS…you are probably thinking…well why not??? After all if a pie crust isn’t flaking and tender…doesn’t matter what you put in your pie…it isn’t a good pie!

Now there are all kinds of pie crusts…you can make them out of cookies, Graham crackers, Ritz cracker…use all different kinds of different flours, use Crisco, lard, shortening, butter..flavorings, salt, no salt, the lists are endless.

But the technique is what I feel, is the most important factor. The rest is just the icing on the cake, parse’.

OK, so the SECRET to good flaking pie crust is not to over work it! It is just that simple…over worked pie crust will be tuff! Get out the hack saw to cut your pie if you over work that crust! And if that doesn’t work get that chain saw out!

Another COOL tip is to use very cold ice water to use as your moistener. I usually put my flavoring in the water and stir well before I add the water to my mixture. I like a sweet crust so I add Splendra { I am diabetic } to the water as well. This is just a personal choice. NOT a must do.

Use your forks {2} or pastry kneader to mix it all together being careful not to over mix, it doesn’t have to be mixed well…just so it sticks together. Roll it out using as least amount of flour to do so…place it in the dish and walla you are ready for the filling.

I do want to mention that strawberry rhubarb is my favorite pie, with apple raisin/currants coming in as second. I use lots of spices and flavoring. That is what will separate your homemade pie from the frozen, store bought pies.

Now there are all kinds of ways to top your pie…you can use just regular crust, make a brown sugar mixture which is what I can a “brown Debbie” covering, make cut outs for around the boarder of your pie…or place them on top, cut strips of crust to make a lattice work. The options are endless. Even for your popovers, quiches, meringues and tarts.

I do suggest for a pie crust topping that you get an egg white, add water to it and brush your top crust with it. This will give it a shinny golden look and then sprinkle it with sugar crystals…go that extra mile and make your pie stand out…

Always fill that pie up with filling. I always make my pies with extra filling. I hate a skinny pie…the bakery police will fine you for a skinny pie! Isn’t that an oxie moron??? LOL
make sure that you have room for the pie to breath with all of that extra filling…I always vent my pies..air needs to escape. Make a nice design if you do…just don’t stab it with a knife.

OK that gives you some general knowledge here is the recipe that I use…after many years I don’t measure…I just make the crust…[you beginners MEASURE!] I do the same with my biscuits.

I have included a recipe for those of you who have to use kitchen gagets…I prefer using my hands and elbow power…but this might be quicker for those of you who have little time to prepare.

I plant my flowers the same way…I don’t use a small garden spade…I just dig in and get dirty! LOL

All Butter Crust for Sweet and Savory Pies (Pâte Brisée) Recipe
This recipe makes 1 pâte brisée crust, enough for one tart. If you are making a pie with a bottom and top crust, double this recipe and form two discs of dough instead of one.
Ingredients
1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour, plus extra for rolling
8 Tbsp (1 stick) unsalted butter, very-cold, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon sugar
2 to 4 Tbsp ice water, very cold
1= Start by cutting the sticks of butter into 1/2-inch cubes and placing in the freezer for 15 minutes so that they become thoroughly chilled.

dough11.jpg

Dough is ready to shape into discs.

2= In a food processor {I prefer to use my hands and a pie cutter/kneader}, combine flour, salt, and sugar, pulse to mix. Add butter and pulse 6 to 8 times, until mixture resembles coarse meal, with pea size pieces {I use the bean size…makes your mixture less crumbly}of butter. Add water 1 Tablespoon at a time, pulsing until mixture just begins to clump together. If you pinch some of the crumbly dough and it holds together, it’s ready, if not, add a little more water and pulse again.

dough2.jpg        dough32.jpg

3= Remove dough from machine and place on a clean surface. Carefully shape into a discs. Do not over-knead the dough! You should still be able to see little bits of butter in the dough. These bits of butter are what will allow the result crust to be flaky. Wrap the disc in plastic wrap and refrigerate at least 2 hours.

4= Remove the crust disk from the refrigerator. Let sit at room temperature for 3-5 minutes. Sprinkle some flour on top of the disk. Roll out with a rolling pin on a lightly floured surface to a 12 inch circle; about 1/8 of an inch thick. As you roll out the dough, use a metal spatula to check if the dough is sticking to the surface below. Add a few sprinkles of flour if necessary to keep the dough from sticking. Gently fold in half. Place on to a 9-inch pie plate, lining up the fold with the center of the pan. Gently unfold and press down to line the pie dish with the dough.

Now I have one more tip…serve your pie Ala mode, with a dairy topping or a big piece of sharpe, cheddar cheese on top…it will really compliment it!

Well, that is about it…if you have any further questions…contact me…or come over for a piece of pie and some coffee and we will discuss it .

Nothing will make a home smell better then when you are baking, your guests and family will love it! Nothing says “lovin’ ‘cept something from the oven!”

As a Lupus survivor and doing countless hours of research and investigation…for better health and wellness…I decided to share this with you…

Folic acid is one of the B vitamins and it is necessary for the production of red blood cells and normal metabolism. It is an important vitamin for pregnant women as it can prevent the occurrence of birth defects and prevents infant spinal cord defects – for example Spina bifida.

Folic acid may also help other conditions such as depression, schizophrenia, arthrosclerosis, heart disease, and diarrhea. It can also be helpful in treating epilepsy gingivitis, gout, and cancer – the risk of getting it is reduced.
Folic Acid Benefits.

One of the best benefits of Folic Acid is for women who are trying to fall pregnant, and those who are pregnant. Folic Acid helps with the healthy development of the fetus, and can help to prevent conditions such as spina bifida and other neural tube defects that are known as devastating conditions.

To be honest, folic acid benefits go much further than just pregnancy. Folic Acid helps with keeping your heart healthy. The nutrient helps lower homocysteine levels; having high homocysteine impairs blood vessels, which, results in the arteries being vulnerable to the formation of plaque.

This can lead to a higher risk of one getting heart disease. It also known that, people who have trouble with depression, may find folic acid helpful because depression is associated with raised levels of homocysteine.

Further Folic Acid benefits in clued a feeling of energy, and it is known that this nutrient may help counter and combat Alzheimer’s disease.
Precautions
Folic acid can have some serious side effects if to much is taken every day. Dangerous levels of consumption are between 5,000 to 10,000 mcg. The RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) stands at 400 mcg per day, however certain people (especially pregnant women, those trying to conceive and the elderly) may need more of this particular nutrient in their diets.

Another point people need to consider is that taking Folic Acid as a supplement can hide serious deficiency symptoms of vitamin B12 (anemia). Take a look at this we came cross in the following encyclopedia “New Encyclopedia Vitamins, Minerals, Supplements, & Herbs” by Nicola Reavley “Large amounts of folic acid can mask anemia caused by Vitamin B12 deficiency. Although this is rare, in some cases it may lead to permanent nerve damage.” pg. 108

Because of this statement, the author of the book advises that people with anemia should not take more than 400 mcg of folic acid per day unless pernicious amenia is first ruled out by your doctor. Some people suggest that Folic Acid should not be consumed as a stand alone supplement and taken with vitamin B12 or as part of a more comprehensive formula where not only B12 are used, but other important vitamins, minerals, herbs, and amino acids.

Lets take a look at an example from, Reader’s Digest book “The Healing Power of Vitamins, Minerals, and Herbs” contains: Buy a folic acid supplement that also contains vitamin B12 (too much of one can mask a deficiency in the other).” pg 293
A deficiency of folic acid could cause some Anemias. The side effects of Folic Acid are rare and are normally due to taking high dosages of the nutrient. If any change occurs after starting a regimen of folic acid, contact your physician immediately. If necessary, go to an emergency facility for evaluation.

Precautions and allergic reactions from Folic Acid
Allergic reactions however, can be serious. Some signs of severe allergic reactions include rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, and breathing difficulties. If you note anything that is not usual for you, seek medical attention right away.

Pregnant women and breast feeding mothers should consult their doctors before using this nutrient.

In recent news, reported is a unique piece of information that has been put out there that may be of interest to women who want to get pregnant. Folic acid, when taken after fertility treatment (invitro fertilization) may raise the odds of producing twins. While this is possible with other fertility treatments, it has been recently found to occur with folic acid.

Our Opinion
We believe many vitamins are best consumed through food sources; however, Folic Acid is not one of these nutrients. The nutrient is easily destroyed and the value of the nutrient is lessened by cooking or storage. On top of this, the human body doesn’t store the nutrient for very long. This is why we need to take this nutrient daily to keep on top. Because of what we have said, many experts suggest that supplements should be incorporated in to ones diet for one of the best sources of folic acid benefits, and also, for those people who need more of this nutrient.

There are still good food sources for Folic Acid however, which include, whole grains, various beans, and green vegetables.

On a final note, many foods today are fortified with this vitamin, although they are not the best sources and are far from natural sources.

Our Tips For Obtaining The Best Folic Acid Benefits

1. Nutritional have become unregulated. Studies have shown that consumers of health products only have a 1 in 5 chance of buying a product with the amount of ingredients stated on the label. Also, Products have been found to have dangerous contaminates in them.

Because of this, you should choose a manufacturer that is pharmaceutical GMP compliant. Such places comply with the most stringent manufacturing standards. This ensures you get a product with the stated ingredients, and also, ensures that there are no contaminants within your chosen product

Today, the world was stunned by the news of the death of the Energizer Bunny.

He was only seven years old. Authorities believe that the death occurred at approximately 8:42 last evening.

Best known as the irritating pink bunny that kept going, and going, and going, “Pinkie,”as he was known to his friends and family, was alone at the time of his death.

An emergency autopsy was performed early this morning.

Chief Medical Examiner, Dura Cell, concluded that the cause of death was acute cardiac arrest induced by sexual over-stimulation.

Apparently, someone had put the bunny’s batteries in backwards and he kept coming, and coming, and coming

This rant is my responce to one of Cananda’s talk shows…the link to that is…
http://www.cbc.ca/marketplace/2007/01/goji.html#video

and MY RANT is…

I had a friend send me this blog…because he knows that I could not sit still for this travesty…since when was good nutrition bad for you or why is it being made fun of and ridiculed? Since when was something else besides a pharmaceutical bad for you…since when was thinking outside the box bad for you…

I did not see this show but I can tell by the information that it was totally one sided and therefore NOT informative!

Most people are lead by large pharmaceuticals into believing that their product is a cure all…then why are we losing our loved ones by the thousands each year? Why are the side effects worse then some of the disease? Why is it that a blue pill was manufactured to make male penises get hard before they cured cancer…PROFIT that is the game! Why hasn’t the common cold cure all been discovered before the little blue pill??? PROFIT! Why are senior citizens eating dog food to be able to buy the pharmaceutical medicines that are needed to help enhance their lives….PROFIT

Listen to some of the commercials on TV…those of you who watch the idiot tube!

Listen to what the side effects are…read the information the pharmacist gives you…there is a reason for that…it holds them not responsible for possibly killing you.

The Medical Field is NOT an exact science and if it were why do Physicians say “lets try this first and see if it works…there have been good results…only to come back and try the next drug and see if it works…

Having a terminal illness I know for a fact that there isn’t a cure all…but good nutrition is not harmful or stupid or inexpensive.

We are made up of water and minerals and we are what we eat. It is that simple…you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure it out…natural juices are healthy for you how many of you out there ate 5-8 fruits today??? That is what it takes with todays fruit products to balance our systems, nutritionally.

For those of you who read the bible I don’t remember Moses or another predominate people in the bible going to the drug store and putting their children on Ridlin {hope I spelled that correct…but my point is that even your children ARE NOT SAFE!} or dosing themselves in the grave!…And I do believe that they lived longer than we are now. Hundreds of years…NO MEDS!!!! Natural Medicine!

Our world is full of antitoxins and even the air that we breath is bad for us…our fruit is picked too early and gased to become ripen…it is given to the public without their knowledge…eggs are kept off shore in ships so that the expiration date is in compliance with in the FDA. Our fish are poisoned by chemicals being dumped so that even tuna has a large amount of chemicals that are harmful to us.

Yet there are you out there who criticize natural medicines and promote the poisons that the pharmaceuticals are shoving down your throat.

I feel sorry for the mass population who are herded by the millions into believing that pharmaceuticals have the only sure cure all for you…I see you every day…following one another likes ducks to a pond…or should I saw cows to the slaughter house!

Wake up America …you are being slowly poisoned and misguided into worse health.

Anyone who wants to know the truth and not be lead around by the nose, come to my blog which I am setting up…I welcome your comments and posts…hopefully there are still some of you out there who are free thinkers and can smell a rose or a pile of crap when you smell it!

This might seem off the wall to you…so your comments are welcome…if I save one person tonight from the Pharmaceutical companies it was worth it!

This is MY rant for the night…Smiles and world peace…

j0407479.jpgA Georgia State Trooper pulled a car over on I-95 about 2 miles south of the Georgia/South Carolina state line.

When the Trooper asked the driver why he was speeding, the driver answered that he was a magician and a juggler and he was on his way to  Savannah to do a show that night at the Shrine Circus and didn’t want to be late.

The Trooper told the driver he was fascinated by juggling, and if the driver would do a little juggling for him then he wouldn’t give him a ticket.

The driver told the Trooper that he had sent all of his equipment on ahead and didn’t have anything to juggle.

The Trooper told him that he had some flares in the trunk of his patrol car and asked if he could juggle them.

The juggler stated that he could, so the Trooper got three flares, lit them and handed them to the jug- gler.

While the man was doing his juggling act, a car pulled in behind the patrol car. A drunk, good old boy, from S.C., got out and watched the performance briefly He then went over to the patrol car, opened the rear door and got in.

The Trooper observed him doing this and went over to the patrol car, opened the door and asked the drunk what he thought he was doing.

The drunk replied, “You might as well take my ass to jail, cause there’s no way in hell I can pass that test.”
